This Ozmate faq page is dedicated to answer all your questions about how to use the site effectively, all in an easy to use format. We have looked at questions that most people want answers to and present them in a simple format so you don’t have to read volumes of information till you stumble across the answer.

Register an Account
Creating an account with us is very simple and straight forward.
- Click on the Register link in the menu bar.
- if using a mobile device, tap the 3 horizontal bars to reveal the menu drop-down.
- Click or tap the Register menu link. This will display a registration form containing Username & Email.
- You can use the “Register” button on the home page instead if you wish.
- Type in a username and an email address that you would like to use for this site.
- Click or tap the Register button.
- You will see a “Registration complete” message advising you to check your email for a validation link.
- Note: Clicking the Register button sends an email to the email address you set in the registration form
Validation Email Link
- There are 2 links on the email page you receive.
- The first is the activation link which should open up a page with a password box.
- The second link will open up the login form.
- Clicking or tapping the first email link, will open up a password form for you to add a password to your registered username and email address.
- You can either accept the generated password or you can use one that you have created yourself.
- Note: A good strong password will protect your account from hackers and protects your data that you have on our site.
- Once your password has been set, you can use the Log in link to log into your account
- Note: This will open up your own personal page
- Log in will be the username or email address and password that you set up in the previous steps
Logging In for the first time
The first time you log into your new account, you will get a message reminding you that your profile is incomplete. The message asks you to complete the profile.
- Click or tap the cross in the top right hand corner of this form to remove the reminder message.
- You be presented with 3 stages (steps) to fill in with your own details.
- The first stage allows you to select your gender, birth-date and your height.
- Note: Your birth-date does not show anywhere on the site and is only used to calculate your age in whole years to display in your profile.
- Height is in cm’s at present. If there is demand for feet and inches in future, we will look at this.
- Click save to move to the next stage.
- Select your country, region and type in your nearest city.
- Note: Do not put in your postal address, only put in your nearest city or town. You do not want to be broadcasting your actual home address as this may end badly. Be warned!
- Click Save to move on to the final stage of setup.
- The final stage is a brief overview of what you are looking for.
- Select the gender type of the person you are looking for.
- The age range minimum to maximum
- Select the type of relationship you are looking for.
- Click Save to save the information.
- Finally, you can type in an attention grabber,
- Type in some information about yourself in My ad to promote yourself to potential viewers of your profile.
- Add a profile image by clicking or tapping one of the small photo placeholders to upload an image to use and then click Save Profile.
- Note: Images can be in most standard image formats, .jpg, .png etc. but doesn’t respond to .webp or .psd formats. If your image is not displaying, try converting to .jpg or .png format.
- You will not be able to see other members if you don’t have a profile picture.
- You need to have at least 30 characters in your ad section or you may be limited in your actions

My Home Page
Once you have logged in and filled in the 3 stages of your profile set up, subsequent logins will take you to your personal home page.
- Your home page will display information about how many times your profile was viewed, if there are any contact requests etc.
- Above your information is a menu bar. The icons here starting on the left and moving to the right hand side, are as follows:
- Home: The home icon is a picture of a house The home page will display all members that fit your search criteria as well as whatever interactions that have occurred. If you are not seeing any profile pictures, try adjusting the quick search options as they may be too restrictive to display anything.
- Profile: The profile icon is a picture of a business card or info box. This will show what other members will see if they click on your profile. You cannot edit anything in profile view.
- Inbox: The icon for the inbox is a picture of an envelope. This is where you will see if any members have sent messages to you. Clicking on the name will show any messages that contact has made to you. Anyone that has sent anything to you will display their profile image and their name.
- Clicking the member’s name, will show any messages from this person they have sent to you. Opening the messages screen will display the messages there.
- In this screen, you have the option to answer any messages made to you, delete the conversation using the trash can icon. or go back to the inbox using the Inbox button.
- Search: The search icon is a picture of a looking glass. This is where you can do a more advanced search for compatible members. You can change your age range, height range, country, region, city. You can set the relation, look for a word in the users ad or search for an alias.
- Note:The alias can be the username or even a part of a username, eg. you may be looking for John and if you type jo or even j will pick up all users that start with jo or j
- Settings: The settings icon is a picture of 3 horizontal bars with slider knobs in different positions. The settings icon allows you to edit any, and all of your settings from when you originally set up your account.
- You can upload one image or more, up to 8 images.
- If you have more than one photo, you can select any of the images, and you will see an option to make that image the main image or the image that will display on the profile pages.
- The images will display in a lightbox if you view a members profile that has more than 1 image.
- You may change the name from your username to a name that you want people to see.
- If you want to keep your name private, it’s acceptable to use your username
- You can fill in more options or alter existing options, in each of the tabs.
- Change your password.
- Set your account preferences in your default search criteria.
- Set your profile visibility or even delete your account.
- Note: Deleting your account is irreversible and all information on the server will be permanently deleted.
- You can upload one image or more, up to 8 images.
Communicating with members
- Once you are logged into your account, you should see several profiles displayed. If you have uploaded a profile picture, you should be able to view any of the profiles by clicking on the profile picture or the grey Profile section at the bottom of each profile. This will display the member’s profile for you to look at.
- The profile displayed, will be their profile picture, attention grabber and their ad information.
- Below that will be the member’s search if they have filled anything in there, it will display a summary of their answers of whatever they have selected or typed in this area.
- Below that is a line of buttons where you can send a message, a smile, ask for a contact or set the member as a favorite which will then display on your home page group
- You will also notice an upward arrow (chevron) at the left end of the row of buttons. This will extend the row of buttons.
- Chat will be enabled if the profile user is currently online. If not, the chat button will be disabled.
- Block will show so that you can block the user from sending you a message, a smile, asking for a contact, chat or reporting you. Clicking any of these results in a message saying that the member blocked you.
- If you want to unblock the user, simply click the user’s profile, click the up chevron to display the extended row and click Unblock. The user will now be unblocked and can now send messages, smiles etc. to you again
Using the Chat Feature
- Users that are currently online will show up in your home page under the heading of “Online now” The profile will also show a green dot at the bottom of their profile. Clicking on the profile will show the chat button enabled.
- To initiate a chat session, click on the Chat button. This will open up a chat window with the initiator’s profile picture displaying a message to either accept or ignore the chat session.
- Clicking the accept button will start the chat session between the 2 parties.
- If either or both parties has webcam installed, you can click the camera at the top of the chat window to start viewing the other parties camera.
- Note: If you click the camera on your device, you will not see the other parties video feed until the other party clicks their camera.
- The same is true if the other party clicks their camera, they will not be able to see your video feed until you click your camera icon.
- This way your privacy is in your hands of whether you allow video from your device to proceed or not.
- The same is true if the other party clicks their camera, they will not be able to see your video feed until you click your camera icon.
- Note: If you click the camera on your device, you will not see the other parties video feed until the other party clicks their camera.
- If you don’t have a camera installed, the other person will get a blank screen if they click their camera.
- Note: The camera does not stream and transmits an image every second or so. There is no sound for the camera.
- To cancel the chat session, click or tap the x to the right of the top bar on top of the chat screen.
Reporting a Member
There are a couple of ways to report a member on OzMate website
- The first is via the member profile.
- Select the member profile you wish to report, select the Up arrow (chevron) and select report. This will flag that this user has been reported.
- The second is to actually file a report and supply evidence of why the member should have action against them.
- In the footer menu, you will see “Report a Member” Click or tap this, fill in the form including any evidence of wrongdoing and submit the form.
- This will give us the evidence we need to be able to take action against the member either in the form of sending a warning to the member, suspending their account for a number of days or terminating their account.
Receiving Emails from your Account
You will receive emails from our site from time to time whenever an event occurs.
- An event will be when someone views your profile
- When someone sends a smile
- When someone sends a contact request
- If the email contains links to another person’s profile, clicking the link will automatically log you in and take you to that person’s profile page
- When it’s your birthday
- There may be other instances where we automatically send you notifications.
- We do not solicit any information via email nor will we send any advertising via email
Does any information from the site go to 3rd parties?
- We do not sell any information to any other parties
- The only 3rd parties that we may use will be for analytical and statistical usage
- There is no identifiable data collected
- Any information collected internally, will be used to verify how the site is performing

I didn’t receive a verification email
- Check your spam folder to see if it was redirected there
- Don’t forget to check online folders if using gmail or hotmail or similar.
- Check the spelling of your email address
- It’s very easy to add a .au if using gmail, or make a typo.
- Give it a few minutes
- Some providers may experience heavy loads at times and your email may have simply been queued to send when the backlog has cleared.
- If everything checks out and you still didn’t receive an email, reach out to us via our Contact Us page and we may be able to do something for you
Profile not showing on member page
- When you create an account, there may be a delay of up to 3 days before your profile picture appears on the members page or on logged in members home page.
- This gives you time to assess if the site is right for you and if not, allows you to delete your account without being seen by other members.
- Members can perform a search and if your details match the search criteria, your profile will show in the search
- You must have uploaded a profile image in order for your profile to show on the members page
